Avon Outfit- Touch of Lace Tunic & Modern Zip Pant

Here's a sneak peek at What's New from Avon and will be available for order in campaign 20. 

The Touch Lace Tunic is a very feminine and flirty ivory tunic that is simple, but with an alluring detail of black lace on the shoulders. The black stripe down the middle creates a slimming effect. It will be available for $19.99.

The Modern Zip pant has a ponte cut with a chic zipper detail at the ankle. It has a wide elastic band to also flatter the waist. It will be available for $24.99.

Here is a close up of the lace and zipper detail. It's little details like these that makes me swoon.

But...I'm not sure how much I'm loving this outfit...on me.

Let me begin by saying it's hard to find clothes that fit my body type. I'm short and curvy. So clothes are normally too long and too tight in the bust area.

First the pants are way too long. I'm 5'1" and the waist band came up to my boobs. I rolled down the waist band for this picture. Even then the legs were too long. It created an unflattering sagginess, which made me look frumpy and shorter than I already am. Bummer 😕

Secondly the top is too tight around my bust. It squished my "girls". 😮 I'm larger chested, but got a medium because I was afraid that it being a tunic that I would be swallowed in fabric. Luckily the fabric is light weight, if not a little see through, but not a deal breaker. So I'll exchange it for a large and see how it fits. 

Although I wasn't in love with the fit, Avon has an awesome return policy. If you're not satisfied, just return the item within 60 days. No questions asked. 😊

Speed Dry Nail Polish, My Go To Nail Polish

I'm obsessed with Avon's Speed Dry Nail Polish. I hate waiting for my nails to dry. So much so that I'll let a pedi go way longer than I should. I mean my nail polish is pretty much chipped off more than half my nails longer than I should really wait to redo my nails. 

It dries in less than 30 seconds! And makes nails feel rock hard! This fast-drying formula contains Avon's Flash Dry Technology, which is a unique blend of quick-drying ingredients, including Volcanic Rock. I have to say although I have only swatched it, the color pay off is pretty darn good. Especially the teal color (3). I barely touched it and boom. Look at that!

Birthday Girl

My baby just turned 1! I haven't posted much lately. Been busy with her 1st birthday party. Now that it's done I can finally breath and relax a little. Well, at least until the next birthday.

I can't believe how quickly time flew. Here's a shot of her in her mermaid outfit.

We picked mermaids for her theme. 

She's a fish that loves to swim. 

I made little mermaids that decorated everything.

Her mermaid outfit was a present from our dear friend who found it online at Belle Threads. Super cute and very well made. It is fully lined so she was very comfy. 

I think she had a blast!

Spice Market Sandal

The Spice Market Toe Loop Sandal by Avon is my new go to shoe for this summer. I was walking to get some lunch and decided it looks so nice in the natural light. (Photo Op!)

I love the neutral gold color. It really makes my pedi, using Speed Dry Nail Polish in Turquoise Pop, really stand out. It pairs perfectly with any outfit. A major plus, it's so comfy. The foot bed is cushioned. I could walk in them all day.

Black Mineral Clay Mask

After a long day at the beach, thus the red eyes, I'm treating myself to some spa like pampering with Avon's Black Mineral Clay Mask. Its best to use no more than once week as it contains salicylic acid and over use may dry out your skin. I usually use it every other week. It really helps to open my pores and pull out the yucky gunk especially on my nose. 

It goes on black. My daughter can't stop staring at me everytime I use it. 

(I know I look like the creature from the black lagoon. I promise mommy is still here.)

As it dries it turns white. In all it took about 15 minutes to completely dry. It tightens and cools as it dries, which feels awesome!

Wash off the clay mask with warm water and voila you are done! 

(BTW the red splotches on my face is from the tightening when the mask dries and hardens. It fades after a couple of minutes.)

Mani & Pedi

I actually got a chance to do my nails today. A rare feat if you ask me, but once in a blue moon my little monster takes an extra long nap. Normally its squeezing in laundry or cleaning up the endless toys, but today I said screw it and did my nails.

I love how quickly the Speed Dry by Avon does, well for lack of a better word, dry. My toes are a lovely shade of purple called presto plum. My nails are the regular Nailwear Pro collection, no speed dry for this color unfortunately, in Barefoot beige. Bummer because I kept bumping my nails as I waited impatiently to dry. Overall not bad I must say.

I have to say,  my favorite colors in the palette are 3 & 4. They are truly pigmented golden colors. 1 & 2 are ok, but not a must in my opinion. I'm still playing with it, so I will reserve judgment until I use it some more.

I'm back at it

I've been away far too long. It's been about 6 months since my last post. A lot of things have been happening...I just returned to my full-time job this January after being out for 6 months on maternity leave. Getting back into the groove of things has been tough, between breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and lots of diaper changing. 

Now that things have settled down a bit I can focus more on my makeup and skincare adventures. By no means am I a guru at any of this stuff, but the fun is in trying new things right? I am still an Avon and mark. girl representative and can't wait to see what new products are coming out.
